Moderate to Severe

Advanced Acne Programme

For moderate to severe acne that hasn't responded to previous treatment. A structured programme with monthly clinical review and monitoring throughout.

Blood Monitoring

Blood tests are part of the Advanced Acne Programme. For the Hormonal Acne Programme, they’re only needed for some patients, depending on your age and medical history, and I’ll let you know at your consultation if you need them. Where tests are needed, you book them with a blood test clinic of your choice, with options nationwide, and pay the clinic directly, separate to your monthly fee.

Once your skin has settled, this keeps it that way. Ongoing repeat treatment and direct access to me if something changes, with clinical review as needed.

The Acne Care Plan and the Hormonal Acne Programme each have a three-month minimum, which is the time needed to properly assess how your skin is responding. On the Hormonal Acne Programme, reviews are at about 4 to 6, 8 and 12 weeks. If you’d prefer, you can book one-off follow-ups instead. The Advanced Acne Programme is month to month and runs for as long as treatment is clinically required, typically around six months. Treatment isn’t stopped early without clinical reason, because stopping short is the most common cause of relapse. The Maintenance Programme has no minimum term.

Your monthly fee covers your clinical care: your review consultations, ongoing management and direct support. Treatment itself is charged separately: your prescription is sent to your nominated pharmacy and you pay the pharmacy directly.

Where blood tests are required, you book them with one of our blood test options, with locations nationwide, and pay the clinic directly. Costs depend on which tests are needed and where you go, and everything is explained to you at your initial consultation.

A standalone acne follow-up is €89 and is for existing ClearDerm patients only. If you're on a monthly care plan your reviews are already included, so you won't need one.

Depending on your circumstances, consultation fees may be eligible for reimbursement through private health insurance or Revenue medical expense relief.
