About Dr Tara

I am Dr Tara Treacy, and I founded ClearDerm because I believe no one in Ireland should have to wait years, or travel for hours, to get real help with their skin. Acne is not something to be brushed off, and I built this service to give it the attention it deserves.

My training and background

I am an Irish trained GP with a postgraduate special interest in dermatology. My qualifications include MB BCh BAO and Membership of the Irish College of General Practitioners, a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Dermatology from Queen Mary University of London, and an Advanced Acne Therapy Certificate from the RCPI.

I am a GP with a special interest in dermatology, and my clinical focus is acne specifically.

Why acne, and why this way?

In general practice I saw the same pattern again and again: people with acne given ten minutes, a quick fix, and no follow through, then left to cope alone. Acne is a chronic condition that rewards time, understanding and continuity. ClearDerm is built around exactly that, an unhurried assessment and an ongoing plan rather than a revolving door of one off visits.

Why this is personal

I have lived with acne myself and been through treatment for it, so I understand the toll it takes, not just on your skin but on how you feel about yourself. That experience shapes how I practise, with empathy first, and without ever making anyone feel it is their fault.
