They are substantial. HIQA reported that 60,821 people were on the dermatology outpatient waiting list in Ireland at the end of February 2026. In some parts of the country, people wait a very long time simply for a first assessment, before any care even begins.

Acne is not static. Active, inflammatory acne that is left untreated for months carries a real risk of permanent scarring and lasting marks, as well as a steady toll on confidence and mood.
